In celebration of Read Across America, Portales Municipal Schools joined together to recognize and promote the importance of reading! The Portales High School Student Council organized a spirit week the week before spring break to help build excitement around reading and school participation. 

During the celebration, they also had the opportunity to visit James Elementary School where they read books to the younger students. It was a meaningful experience that allowed high school students to model the importance of literacy while connecting with young learners in our community!
